How the adaptive model works

Each fact or skill family has its own review stage. Successful independent recall spaces practice further apart; mistakes bring material back sooner; using Help records the answer as worked out rather than independently recalled.

Independent recall

Now → 1 day → 2 days → 4 days → 8 days → 16 days → 32 days.

Needs another look

A mistake moves the fact back two stages. A new fact at stage 0 stays due now, but recent-question protection prevents immediate repetition.

Worked out with Help

Recall → 1 day → recall → 2 days → mistake → back to stage 0 → work it out with Help → review again tomorrow → recall and begin spacing out again.
